It is now possible to process 40″ logs in a horizontal shredder with 200 HP. Universal has taken their cutter disc technology and turned it sideways.  With a 50″ opening, it will feed most materials without an expensive steel infeed floor.  Instead, it utilizes hydraulic cylinders and barb-like pushers.  No crazy drive motors, gear boxes or pulleys.  In fact, it doesn’t even use a stacking conveyor. You’ll find a blower that can load a chip van or chip truck quite easily.  It also doesn’t have a giant feed wheel!  It can handle most tree-length sized material. It just hangs out behind the feed tray. Get this! It’s only 16,000 lbs.  Shred stumps, logs, C&D, green waste. Process along road ways, right of ways and power lines. Drag it up and down hills and work in tight areas.  There are no cutters rotating towards the opening so there is less likelihood of debris ejection.  A gate dictates the finished product size; i.e. no screens!
